Before joining the Learning & Teaching Development team at Otago Polytechnic in 2018, I enjoyed a varied international career as a teacher, teacher trainer and facilitator for institutions such as the European Commission, LUISS University, British Council and National Public Administration School (SNA) in Rome and London Metropolitan University and Central St Martins (University of the Arts) in London.

I graduated from Auckland University in 1990 with an LLB (Hons) and BA in English Literature and many years later combined my love of law and language with an MSc in Forensic Linguistics from Aston University, Birmingham. In my salad days I worked as a freelance dancer and choreographer in New Zealand and the U.K. and studied at the London branch of the Lee Strasberg School. I have been very fortunate to have had so many diverse experiences in my life, and teaching has provided a wonderful coat hanger to carry them on.
