Welcoming our new students
We’ve welcomed our latest intake of students to OPAIC this week with a series of workshops and an Orientation Day.
Our final Study Block of 2024 kicks off next week and we have a large cohort of students joining us from all over the world.
On Tuesday they attended an Academic Success Workshop where they got the chance to get to know our academic Learning Support Team and learned all about our experiential learning environment.
On Wednesday they attended an Employability Services and Industry Engagement Workshop where they were introduced to our Employability Team and heard all about the events planned for the study block ahead.
Today they were back on campus for Orientation Day, including a formal welcome from staff, a Student Success presentation, an IT induction, a campus tour, and academic orientations.
Academic/Quality Lead and Te Kaihapai Sean Bell welcomed the new cohort, telling them we hold ourselves to high standards here at OPAIC which we achieve with integrity.
To be successful during their study, students should approach their work with integrity and get involved with all the opportunities available to them.
Sean said staff knew how challenging and rewarding it could be to study in a new country in a new language and were here to help.
