Philippines Vice Consul visits Auckland campus
We were delighted to welcome Mr Randell O'neal Mendoza, the Honorary Vice Consul for the Philippines, to the Auckland International Campus yesterday for a speaker event titled Insights from the Philippines Consulate.
Mr Mendoza shared his inspiring personal journey, beginning as an international student in Auckland and progressing through a successful career that led to his current role with the Consulate. He spoke about the value of building strong connections and networks in finding career opportunities and navigating professional pathways.
During his talk, Mr Mendoza also explored cultural similarities and differences between the Philippines and New Zealand, encouraging students to embrace Kiwi culture while proudly maintaining their Filipino identity.
The session concluded with an engaging Q&A and a discussion about potential volunteer opportunities for students at the Consulate.
