Insights gained at Business Analysis workshop

A graduate and a current learner got a transformative look into what it takes to succeed in the evolving field of Business Analysis (BA) during a recent workshop.

Graduate Ilgar Isayev and current learner Bikramjeet Singh Suman had the opportunity to participate in the Next Level BA workshop, thanks to the generous support of our valued industry partner Redvespa Consultants Limited. It was led by renowned consultant Vaughan Luckman.

The workshop gave Ilgar and Bikramjeet the chance to step beyond classroom theory and immerse themselves in a real-world professional development experience.

It emphasised the shift from traditional BA roles into purpose-driven leadership, where analysts are not only problem-solvers but also influencers in their organisations.

Key learnings included:

  • Outcome-Focused Thinking – Moving from tasks to meaningful business and customer outcomes.
  • From Ambiguity to Clarity – Learning to ask the tough questions before jumping into solutions.
  • Planning as an Evolving Practice – Reframing planning as an iterative, thoughtful process.
  • Process versus Purpose – Challenging the balance between compliance and delivering true value.
  • Understanding Organisational Dynamics – Recognising that soft skills are essential to project success.

These insights help bridge the gap between study and industry, giving students the tools and mindset to lead with clarity and courage.
