Graduate shares insights on navigating employer expectations
Students at our Auckland International Campus had the opportunity to gain valuable insights into the job market yesterday.
Our graduate Brinner Antony was on campus for an exclusive session with our students. Brinner is a Business Broker at Link Business Brokers.
Brinner shared his personal career journey, shedding light on what employers truly look for in job candidates. He provided practical advice on how to stand out in today’s competitive job market, from crafting a strong CV to mastering interviews and understanding the soft skills that make a real impact.
A key takeaway from the session was the importance of adaptability and proactiveness. Brinner emphasised that employers seek candidates who not only have the right qualifications but also demonstrate initiative, problem-solving skills, and a willingness to grow.
He also highlighted the value of networking and continuous learning in building a successful career.
The session was highly interactive, with students engaging in a Q&A discussion, asking thoughtful questions about career pathways, employer expectations, and strategies for securing their first roles.
Brinner’s real-world advice resonated with attendees, leaving them with actionable steps to enhance their employability.
