Celebrating Te Wiki o Te Reo Māori at AIC
We marked Te Wiki o Te Reo Māori with a full schedule of activities on campus.
The week began with a pepeha workshop, where students learned how to introduce themselves in the traditional Māori way, followed by the rakau stick game.
In the second half of the week, students explored Māori design by creating their own wristbands, took part in a hands-on workshop making poi, and rounded off the week with kai and kēmu.
Along the way they learned new Māori terms and traditions, which were put to the test in a quiz on Friday afternoon.
Thank you to everyone who joined in the events. It was great to see so many students keen to learn more about the Māori language and culture while connecting with classmates and enjoying activities together on campus.
