Senior lecturer presents AI research in Beijing

An AIC Senior Lecturer has showcased internationally collaborative research on responsible artificial intelligence at an innovation and technology conference in Beijing, China.

Jimmy Sun presented his research at the Innovation and Technology Management Conference, which brought together scholars and practitioners working at the intersection of innovation, technology management, digital transformation, and artificial intelligence.

As part of the conference programme, he presented a research paper titled “How is Responsible AI Built Under Data Sovereignty and Geopolitical Fragmentation? A Sensemaking Perspective”.

The research was developed through collaboration between OPAIC researchers and academic partners from RMIT University in Australia and Shenzhen University in China, reflecting an international and interdisciplinary effort to address emerging challenges in responsible artificial intelligence.

Jimmy says attending the conference enabled the sharing of ongoing research, engagement with international scholars, and exploration of future collaborative opportunities in the rapidly evolving field of responsible AI.

He says the conference was a valuable opportunity to present current research on responsible AI governance and organisational responses to data sovereignty and geopolitical fragmentation, while receiving feedback from fellow scholars.

It also provided an opportunity to engage with international researchers working in innovation management, AI governance, digital transformation, and information systems.

He says he looks forward to incorporating knowledge gained from the conference into his teaching activities.

Jimmy is grateful to the AIC Research Office for funding his attendance at the conference.
