Rere Āwhio Journal of Applied Research and Practice invites original manuscript submissions for Issue 6 (2026). 

Rere Āwhio is an interdisciplinary open-access journal focused on applied sustainability, innovation, systems thinking, digital transformation, and industry-connected research in Aotearoa New Zealand and internationally. 

For 2026, the journal particularly welcomes submissions aligned with the Smart Sustainable Development (SSD) 2026 themes, including:

SSD 2026 Conference Early Version Papers 

Rere Āwhio is independent from the SSD 2026 conference publisher. We welcome conference-aligned manuscripts that are not published in the conference proceedings. 

Authors whose work is published through the conference publisher may submit an extended version with a 150–300 word statement outlining the substantive differences between the conference and journal versions.

Peer Review 

All submissions undergo peer review. 
Standard review target: approximately four weeks. 
Expedited handling is available for approved SSD secondary fast-track submissions.

  • PDF  

A LaTeX template is also available for authors who wish to prepare manuscripts in LaTeX.
