OPAIC marks Māori Language Week

OPAIC is celebrating Māori Language Week this week in a number of ways.

Students are welcome to come up to Level 8 on Thursday to weave a flax flower.

We’re also putting a Māori word of the day up on the screens around campus each day.

Students can come to Room 101 and use the guide sheet to order a coffee from Student Success in Māori.

In addition to these initiatives, Dr Abbas Malik will be working with his IT students to develop a Māori mobile app. The app shows Māori numbers alongside digits, so users can learn the numbers in te reo.
